Rotary Wally West Scholariship

This is a new educational grant being supported by the Rotary Club of Prince George (Downtown) in honour of Wally West, a noted photographer and Rotary Club Member since 1948.

It will be offered to a student graduating from a secondary school in Prince George with a strong preference to one who intends to pursue a career or further study in the Visual Arts. A specialty or active interest in photography would also be an asset.

Number of Awards: 1

Amount of Each Award: $1,000

Eligibility: Open to students currently enrolled in a Prince George secondary school. Preference given to students pursuing a career or further study in visual arts.


(If no suitable candidate, this award will be issued on the same terms as a Rotary Club of Prince George Scholarship for $1,000.)

Criteria: Demonstrated ability in Visual Arts as determined by acceptance in a related full time related program in a recognized institution.

Selection Process: Selected by District Awards Committee.

Special Condition: Provide proof of registration in a full program at an established college, institute, university or other recognized post-secondary instruction source of training/education in the Visual Arts.

A letter of support from a high school instructor relating to applicant's merits as pertains to this award and a letter of application from the applicant, outlining interests and goals.
